Mr Marshall is one of the directors of Ebiz Solutions in Eaton who supply and train businesses on MYOB software.

MYOB is software that simplifies accounting, payroll, client management and GST compliance for small businesses.

Mr Marshall said it was a huge honour to be named the first ever national winner of this award.

"There are over 1,000 MYOB consultants in Australia and over one million small businesses use MYOB Australia wide so to be named number one by peers is mind blowing," he said.

MYOB chief executive officer Tim Reed said the award was based on innovation, performance and peer and clientele feedback.

"Rob Marshall was an extremely worthy and popular choice for this year’s award," Mr Reed said.

"Well known in his local community and a deserving winner of the Telstra Micro Business of the Year award in 2007, he is a committed ambassador for the MYOB brand and a passionate supporter of local business."

Mr Marshall has been running Ebiz with his brother Don since 1996 when they first started out in Harvey.

Ebiz has grown significantly since its humble beginnings.

"From 1996 to 2000 we had 20 clients and once the GST came in we went to 200 and now we have in excess of 2000," said Mr Marshall.

The Ebiz team has also grown over the years, starting out with just two and now there are 12 employees.

"We have an amazing team and everyone has their own specialty areas," Mr Marshall said.
