FESTIVAL: One of the state’s most popular blues festivals is set to return in the new year with an expansive line-up to boot.
The West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots festival impressed crowds in 2011 with the likes of the legendary Bob Dylan and regarded Elvis Costello.
The line-up for the ninth annual festival has recently been announced and looks to be bigger and better than ever.
The artist bill contains a number of varied genres and styles but is set to deliver a memorable day of music.
The line-up is spearheaded by United States contemporary kings Crosby, Stills & Nash.
The accomplished group has been impressing audiences the world over for the past five decades and such is the quality of their music, the band have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice.
Returning for the first time since the late ‘80s, Celtic punk legends The Pogues will accompany fellow UK acts such as The Specials.
A slew of US talent will also join in on the fun as Buddy Guy, My Morning Jacket, Steve Earle, Keb’ Mo’ and Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will each deliver their unique grooves.
The Australian contingent meanwhile is rounded-out with new comers Husky and talented vocalist Felicity Groom.
Many more acts are yet to be included but the first announcement promises the 2012 West Coast Blues ‘N’ Roots festival will be a ripper.
The festival will be held on April 1 next year at Fremantle Park.
First release tickets are now on sale for $139.
