Accommodation for seniors

23 Jun, 2010 10:00 AM
CAPEL Shire is looking at a $2 million plan to build up to eight accommodation units for local seniors.

At the moment there are only four one-bedroom units for the elderly to buy and live in after their larger homes become too much work.

These units have a 10 to 20 person waiting list at any one time.

The shire is hoping to build eight two-bedroom units to allow for at least eight individuals or couples.

The Capel Country Care seniors group and their senior housing committee are working together with the Capel council to discuss plans for where the units would be built and a financial analysis on the total cost.
