Fire all clear in Roelands

UPDATE: The Fire and Emergency Services Authority has issued an all clear for a fire near Roelands.

Two water bombers were sent to the fire near Roelands this morning.

The fire was burning in Cullity's Pine Plantation at the top of Roelands Hill near the Coalfields Highway.

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority was alerted to the fire at 5.50am.

The Harvey Bushfire Brigade, Shire of Harvey and Department of Environment and Conservation have been sent to battle the blaze.

There is currently no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.

A Fire and Emergency Services Authority spokeswoman said though the fire had been contained residents needed to monitor the situation.

Fire and Department of Environment crews are mopping up the area.
