SOUTH Bunbury and Carey Park residents are assessing the damage to their homes and Bunbury Police have closed roads while storm debris is cleared after a tornado hit the suburbs at 11.20am this morning.
There are trees blocking roads at numerous places along Hastie Street and its side streets.
Bunbury police and rangers have closed the roads and the clean-up is underway.
Elanora Villas aged home on the street was reportedly hit very hard by the storm.
Mininup Road at the corner of Mangles Drive has been reopened to traffic again after it was closed due to fallen power lines.
The mini tornado’s path of destruction went down Hastie Street towards the Bunbury racecourse and then continued North West towards Kelly Park.
There are still power lines down and trees on roads along some streets in Carey Park.
