HUNDREDS braved the stormy weather last Thursday night to see local beauties battle it out on the catwalk for the Zoo Weekly Swimsuit Calendar model search at Three Monkeys.
Twenty-one-year-old Domenica Grasso was crowned the winner and will fly to Surfers Paradise next month for the national final.
If successful Miss Grasso will feature in the Zoo Weekly 2009/2010 calendar.
Miss Grasso competed against 17 other aspiring models and sailed down the runway in a swimsuit and clubwear to impress the judges.
Miss Grasso has been modelling for 10 years and has featured in the pages of Ralph magazine and last year’s Miss V8 Utes and Beautes Calendar.
The brunette beauty owns a fashion boutique with her twin sister Angela who is also a model.
Nineteen-year-olds Kenita Forward and Sarah Samuelson were deemed second and third respectively in the competition.
The girls each took home a prize pack form Brooke Fiore Hair and Beauty salon.
Classique Model Management owner Tamara Herring said it was great to see some new faces in the competition.
“They showed a lot of potential and have the ability to go far,” Ms Herring said.
