An 18-year-old man has allegedly slashed the throat of his stepfather with a knife.
Police said the suspected incident took place about 8.15pm at a house in Crocker Place in Australind last night.
The 53-year-old man was rushed to Bunbury Regional Hospital by his partner where he underwent surgery.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
The teenager was questioned by Bunbury detectives overnight and he was later charged with aggravated assault and aggravated unlawful wounding.
He is due to appear in court again tomorrow.
