NETBALL: There was a shooting bonanza in the Griffin Souwest Jets second game of the season against the West Coast Falcons.
Goalie Zoe Alberti shot at 93 percent and Jo Dimer at 86 percent in our team’s 60 to 44 win.
Coach Willsher revved up the goalies during her pre-game talk and said 70per cent was not good enough for our goalies to be shooting at and that she expects a lot more from them.
Willsher’s words obviously meant something to our goalies which bought out the Amazon (the Gladiator) in goal shooter Zoe.
The combination of Bianco Romagnolo in centre, Kylie Glancy in wing attack and Jo Dimer in goal attack was just too smart for Falcons with the quick passing and control beautiful to watch.
With Tenille Treloar sick and myself injured after four minutes of game time there was no change in the attacking end.
But for the defensive end all players took to the court and did a wonderful job and saw the Falcons struggle to find any combination which worked well.
For Willsher to be able to put all players on the court for fresh legs and have no effect on our game was a credit to the defensive players.
Willsher commented after the game and said “nothing much went wrong tonight”.
With that comment, tonight we will hopefully build on that and have her say after our game against Coastal Sharks that “nothing went wrong”.
