Earning skills for life

21 Jul, 2010 10:01 AM
TAEKWONDO: Taekwondo Central’s Little Dragons Program has a well deserved reputation for quality martial arts and self protection training from bullies and escaping abduction attempts.

Little Dragons now also has involved a Skills For Life Program that has been trialled recently with great success.

Developing life skills such as patience, respect, and manners not only makes their life easier, but also the parents’ said head instructor Justin Warren.

“Teaching children what these characteristics mean, how you apply it, and helping children become aware of when they should use their new skill has been a very valuable tool for parents and teachers,” he said.

“With some great reports back from parents when they’ve said to their child ‘you’ll have to be patient’ their child now understands how and why they have to be patient.”

The life skills program has been incorporated into all our South West classes in Bunbury, Busselton, Eaton, Australind and Dalye-llup with about 150 children earning their first badge recently.

The first boy and girl to earn this accolade were Kade Gibbons, 8, and Trinity Best, 5, from the Bunbury Little Dragons Program.
