Bunbury driver moves to the top of the ranks

07 Dec, 2011 01:59 PM
CAR COMPETITION: Vince Ciallella is driving his way to the top after winning the WA Saloon Car Competition series held in Perth recently.

The state-wide series is a well known battle between Ford and Holden drivers with about 10 competitors racing from Bunbury each year.

The series runs across the year with seven meets to determine the winner of the event.

Ciallella has been racing for five years and drives a VN Saloon car which he has raced at Barbagello, Perth and Collie.

“It’s been a really big learning curve (participating in the sport),” he said.

“I’ve learnt a lot and I really enjoy it.

“The funny part is I’m 56-years-old and I’m racing against 21-year-olds who have no fear – and I won.”
