Three young Bunbury artistic skaters are part of a small Australian team which will compete against the sport’s best at the world championships held in Germany next week.
Aleesha Hanczakowski, age 17, will contest her third world champs and aims to improve on her 14th position last year.
In her first appearance she broke the top ten with a ninth place.
Her sister Allira Hanc-zakowski, age 15, said she was thrilled to have made the team.
"Aleesha inspired me because she’s been the past two years and I wanted to go too," she said.
"The experience will be amazing I just want to do my best so I can come back with a lot of things to learn and improve on for the next one."
Amelia Keating, age 18, is also thrilled to make her international debut after she moved to Bunbury from Queen-sland to further herself in the sport.
"I just want to do my best and see where I come," she said.
Aleesha and Amelia will compete in freeskate events while Allira will compete in figures.
The three rising stars of the sport train every day, with six days of the week on skates and seventh in the gym.
They said they could not have reached such heights without their coach Susan Brooks.
She has coached in Bunbury for the past 20 years and been involved with the skating at the national level.
Brooks said she was proud that Bunbury had provided three of the 13 skaters who will represent Australia.
