TAEKWONDO Central scooped the pool at the South West Taekwondo Championships.

Taekwondo Central brought home a swag of medals, 10 gold, six silver and 2 bronze from the 18 competitors.

This was a great effort given a majority of the team were sitting out to save their energy for the 2000 Australian Championships, to be held in Sydney.

Daniel and Erin Belant won gold in the State patterns while Ben Buxton grabbed silver and Danny McDonald and Chris McDonnell were awarded bronze.

Jason Ashton and instructor Justin Warren were triumphant, winning gold in the flying side kick.

Sparring gold went to Fiona and Cameron Garwood, Kylie Hampion, Jarryd Hampion, Jason Ashton and Hayden Garwood.

Silver in sparring was awarded to Peter Jankins, Jayden Edwards, Andrew Woodroof, Patrick Jefferies and Joshua Williams with Chris McDonnell winning bronze.
