07 Jan, 2004 04:32 PM
TAEKWONDO: Dalyellup's Rebecca Smith was crowned Taekwondo Central's club champion recently at a ceremony held by the club.

The eight-year-old topped the year, not only winning the Central Cup but also the best sparring competitor trophy and and best patterns competitor trophy for the past year.

"Rebecca won all three of the club's highest awards against a team that boasts 14 State champions and seven Australian champions," instructor Justin Warren said.

"All this at only eight years of age – she has the potential to go a long way."

Rebecca now adds to her gold and silver from the Australian Taekwondo Championships and her two gold medals from the State championships.
