Ex-Olympian Miller to plead guilty to drug charge

07 May, 2009 04:53 PM
Former Olympic swimmer Scott Miller has pleaded guilty to supplying ecstasy, a year after he was arrested during a dramatic police raid on his North Shore home.

In a hearing at the Downing Centre Local Court this morning, Miller's lawyer told the magistrate that his client intended to plead guilty to the indictable offence of supplying ecstasy.

Miller's matter can now proceed straight to sentence, which will take place next week.

"Mr Miller, you have pleaded guilty and you are arraigned to the District Court of Sydney on the 15th of May for sentence," the magistrate, David Armati, said.

Miller, who fronted court with a broken middle finger on his right hand, was supported by his father.

He would not comment outside the court.
