FIRST home buyers in Bunbury are reaping the rewards of a stable market according to local Real Estate Institute of WA chairwoman Roslyn Ierace.
Mrs Ierace said figures show a 35 per cent increase in applications for the state government’s first home buyer grants over the past year demonstrated buyer confidence had returned.
Mrs Ierace said now was an ideal time for first home buyers to capitalise on the grant with properties in suburbs such as Withers and Carey Park.
“Good prices and affordability are really important for first home buyers,” she said.
“The fact that you can buy a home for $200,000 in Bunbury is amazing.
“First home buyers need a starting point in the market and need to do it at an affordable rate.”
Under the scheme, a one-off grant of up to $7000 is payable to first home owners.
Current state-wide figures show applications for the grant are at their highest point over the past three years.
