CAREY Park Primary School will benefit from $1million is state funding for its new child and parent care centre.
Bunbury MLA John Castrilli welcomed the news today which will provide the best start for children with their education.
“This funding represents far more than a $1million investment in a new building,” he said.
“It will help vulnerable students get a better start at school and identify any health or learning problems which may arise during early childhood.”
The child and parent centre will act as a one stop shop for families.
“Families with children from newborns to kindergarten age will be able to access a range of services including playgroups, parenting workshops and child health services,” Mr Castrilli said.
The centre is expected to open early 2014, however some services will be available from later this year.
