BUNBURY police officers were among thousands of riders who rode motorbikes across the country for the annual Wall to Wall event.
The national Wall to Wall ride sees police officers from all states ride to Canberra for the National Police Remem-brance Day.
Detective Jon Munday and Sergeant Dan Talbot from Bunbury raised more than $5000 each for charity as well as taking place in the ride.
The pair joined hundreds of West Australian police officers on September 7 and arrived in Canberra on September 14.
Australian and USA officers met at the National Police Remem-brance wall to remember officers who had died in the line of duty.
Detective Munday told the Bunbury Mail the WA contingent were raising money for Police Commissioner Karl O’Callaghan’s charity Bright Blue for childhood cancer research.
Detective Munday said the cause hit close to home when his youngest son was born premature and had to spend six weeks in hospital.
“That was the main driver for me because there are hundreds of sick babies at King Edwards,” Detective Munday said.
