THERE is a lot more to Bunbury’s new Jetts gym than sweaty lycra and dumbbells.
The exercise club, which is set to open its doors this Friday, will give back to local residents in a lot more ways than just improving their fitness.
Manager Naiomi Peri said the club would take a strong community focus in the form of fundraising events and supporting other local clubs and initiatives.
Their debut fundraiser, to be held on October 19, is called Running for Rights and will provide vital funds to the Bunbury PCYC.
Ms Peri has a background in competitive athletics and will lead a team of local staff who are keen to get to know new members and help them achieve their fitness goals.
“Jetts will be all about the members – we think of it as more of a club rather than a gym because of the social aspect,” Ms Peri said.
“We will be getting involved in a whole heap of events that will benefit Bunbury because we want to give back to our local area.”
Jetts will also host member rewards nights which will include a DJ, competitions, free massage and more.
The gym has moved into the Blair Street building which formerly housed Wooldridges, next to the Farmer’s Market.
The national franchise has more than 200 clubs across Australia and offers 24-7 access and no contracts.
Jetts Bunbury will open on Friday, October 11.
