Elderly man offering lifts "no danger" to residents: Bunbury Police

BUNBURY police have dismissed claims residents were in danger with reports of an elderly man offering lifts yesterday.

Schools across Bunbury sent out an alert to students to avoid an old red car driven by an elderly man.

Bunbury police officer-in-charge senior sergeant Peter Jenal said the man was not specifically targeting school students.

He confirmed the man had approached several members of the public including a school student.

South West detectives Jon Munday told the Bunbury Mail the man involved posed “no danger” to residents.

Detective Munday said the issue had been “blown out of proportion” and the man involved was spoken to yesterday afternoon.
