DARTS: A number of Bunbury players in the WA Legends darts team have experienced unprecedented success at the 2013 Legends Australian Championships.
The event held at the Wally Hagen Basket-ball Arena in Freman-tle saw 45 Bunbury players in the Western Australian side to take on Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland.
South West Legends president Sue Delaporte said it was great to see players from across the region experience success.
“I am thrilled that 20 of the Bunbury players took home a trophy,” Ms Delaporte said.
“Darts is becoming a popular sport and this state always outnumbers the others.”
Delaporte, Marilyn McKenzie, Janet Blair, Annelle Boyd, Anthea Tonkin, Robin French, Jan McCaughan and Kaye Wozencroft were named in the representative Australian side at the conclusion of the week long tournament.
Delaporte also came out of the tournament with the top average of 16.55 points per dart.
The event is played in Western Australia once every four years.
