COMBINING the skills of ceramic and affinity for the coastline, local artist Tracie Anderson is known for her quirky pieces.
Born and bred in the city, Mrs Anderson marks her sixth entry into this year’s popular Art Extraordinaire exhibition.
The unique artist said her works of art always integrated her love of the ocean.
“The pieces are all to do with the beach,” she said.
“Every piece uses rubbish I find washed up on the beach.
“It’s a messy job but its fun – half the fun is collecting.”
Mrs Anderson holds a diploma in visual art and is currently undergoing education in manipulating and firing different clays to use in her art.
The skilled creator said she enjoyed giving discarded waste she has found a new life as part of an artistic work.
“So much rubbish gets washed up but it’s great to use it,” she said.
“It’s a good way to use it and nobody seems to do it – quite a niche skill.”
Mrs Anderson will display at this year’s Art Extraordinaire on August 24, 25 and 26 at the Bunbury Catholic College.
All pieces will be available for display.
