A NIGHT out on the town may soon be a night they would rather forget for two Bunbury men after South West Traffic officers allegedly caught them both driving while drunk.
Police stopped the vehicle after it left a licenced premises in Bunbury at 5.20am on Sunday morning and conducted a random breath test on the driver.
The 25-year-old male from Pelican Point recorded an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.127.
The man declined the offer of a lift home from the officers, telling the police his friend, a passenger in the vehicle, would drive the rest of the journey.
South West Traffic acting officer-in-charge Sergeant Robert Malcolm said officers returned to the vehicle a short time later suspecting the first man may try to drive again.
The second driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man from Australind, recorded an alleged blood alcohol reading of 0.141.
The two men were charged with driving with a blood alcohol reading in excess of 0.08 and the second man was also charged with unauthorised driving by a learner.
They will both face the Bunbury Magistrates Court later this month.
