BUNBURY residents with a thirst for exercise made sure they were the first people into the Telstra shop on Friday for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone.
Staff fitted out in sports great helped Bunbury fitness enthusiast Susan Sorrell to get her new phone and get back out on the track.
“This phone will assist me in reaching my fitness goals by recording my every move and heart rate,” Ms Sorrell said.
Valerie Ogoke from the South West Academy of Sports was present at the launch and said she was excited to see the new phone.
“Only having to carry on device when working out will make it easier for me to keep track of my records.”
The new device features a heart rate sensor and the S Health app which is designed to help Australians achieve their health and fitness goals.
Telstra area gerenal manager Boyd Brown said the next evolution for Bunbury fitness fanatics would be wearable devices.
“Locals have long used smartphones and apps when working out but we’re increasingly seeing people wanting companion devices that are wearable,” Mr Brown said.
“”These devices are essentially a personal trainer when the personal trainer isn’t there.”
