Police are investigating a terrifying drive-by shooting after two shots were fired into a Darch house on Thursday morning.
WAtoday understands that the shots penetrated through a front window of the Hoypoy Gardens home and into a bedroom at 5.40am.
Fortunately, no one was home at the time of the attack.
Several neighbours reported hearing two "loud, quick snaps", while another expressed concern that the attack had happened in the usually quiet street where several children lived.
"If it's random, it's a bit scary," one resident said. "It's not the sort of thing you want happening around kids."
Forensic police and North West Metropolitan detectives have cordoned the property while they investigate the shooting and analyse the bullet holes.
Police have not confirmed if the attack is linked to organised crime or bikie gangs.
WA Police spokeswoman Susan Usher confirmed no one was home at the time of the attack.
