IT is pleasing to see South West road users are heeding the police message to take extra time and care when roads are busy.
Thousands of drivers made the pilgrimage south to celebrate Easter and only a very small amount of them were found to be speeding.
But despite all the extra care that was taken there were still five deaths in regional WA which shows there is still more work to be done.
With double demerits taking effect again on Thursday for the Anzac Day long weekend, we should all take a minute to remember that it is okay to arrive ten minutes later provided we arrive safely.
Be considerate of others on the road and be sure to pay attention at all times.
Don’t be afraid to take a break or swap drivers so you remain alert.
Let us all work together to produce a fatality-free weekend.
