THE approval of a CCTV camera network for Withers can only mean good news for residents.
The suburb has had a rough time recently, and there seemed to be no end in sight.
With the cameras going in, would-be troublemakers will surely think twice about their actions.
On top of this the fact that the cameras are moveable means people don’t know where or when they are on tape.
No doubt residents will feel much safer while out and about.
A suburb shouldn’t be defined by the negative actions of a few.
Withers has much more to offer than crime and anti-social behaviour.
Recently the Bunbury Mail was privileged to attend the debut of a hip hop video produced by local kids at the PCYC.
Hopefully with the problem laneways closed and a camera network up residents will feel confident to embark on more positive initiatives.
