WA Labor leader Mark McGowan visited Max and Julie Johnston in Withers today to talk about the cost of their power bills.
WA Labor Leader Mark McGowan visited a Bunbury family today to discuss what his new Lower Power Bills policy would mean for them.
Mr McGowan said that if elected Labor would remove the Tariff Equalisation Contribution which cost consumers $181.2 million last financial year.
This would mean a saving of seven per cent on all power bills regardless of where they live.
Mr McGowan said removing the equalization tariff would mean people from the city and regions would pay the same rate for their power.
“We are committed to a uniform tariff and do not want to see people in the regions suffer,” he said.
Bunbury residents Max and Julie Johnston said the saving that Mr McGowan was proposing would help pay the bills.
