Olympians return to Bunbury

Both athletes were past BCC students and spoke about their journey to the London Games.

“It is a tough journey with more lows than highs,” Miss Reynolds said.

“But I was selected for the Olympic team on my 21st birthday and that was the best present.”

Miss Reynolds made it to the semi-finals and unfortunately crashed and could not go further.

Miss Hagan said her dream of the Olympics came four years early and said it was a great learning experience.

“There are a lot of sacrifices but to reach the pinnacle of sport is amazing,” she said.

Miss Hagan competed in the women’s eight rowing category and made it to the first round of finals before finishing second.

The pair said they were “more hungry for Rio” now they had a taste of elite competition in London.
