OPINION: Is it just me or is the train service from Bunbury to Perth in an extremely inconvenient location and a service that takes far too long?
How do travellers coming to the city even know where they are or even how to get to our CBD?
A city's main train station should be central.
I propose the City of Bunbury create a train station from the central bus station in town (where it used to be), which would travel from Bunbury town along Koombana Drive, and then head north to Mandurah (existing link) and then onwards to the city.
This would be expensive, but surely there are already some existing rail links in place.
This would enable students who want to study in Perth but stay in Bunbury, the opportunity to travel from town to Perth each day, moreover this would allow local citizens a day trip to Mandurah/Perth (on a budget), and keep congestion off our highways.
Not to mention the environmental benefits and future links to the international airport.
Who else agrees?
