A BUNBURY couple is determined to see the return of a rare collector’s item stolen from their shed last month.
Ray and Anne Buck’s day out at the Western Derby in Perth on June 28 turned sour when they came home to find their shed had been broken into.
Mr and Mrs Buck owned Ray Buck Kawasaki for about 35 years and are well-known across WA’s motorbike community.
While the thieves had stumbled upon a collection of thousands of dollars worth of motorbikes, they selected one Honda Express bike and a helmet to steal.
Mrs Buck said her children, who were now middle-aged, used to “zoom around” on the bike when they were young.
The couple bought the Mick Doohan helmet about 20 years ago.
Doohan is a former Grand Prix motorcycle road racing world champion and the helmet is worth at least $2000.
