ORIENTEERING: Bunbury orienteers will have the opportunity to show off their skills with the South West Orienteering Trekkers holding four NavDash events in October.
NavDash events are held over a short distance in a small, compact area with complex features such as the buildings and passages of a university campus.
While the navigation skills required are relatively easy at a slow jog or walking pace, the more serious competitors try to run their course at high speed.
This makes the navigation much more demanding and it is easy to make small mistakes of a few seconds, which makes all the difference in these fast events.
The first event will commence at 8am on October 7 on Robertson Drive in Bunbury which will include the South West Institute of Technology, Manea Senior College and Edith Cowan University.
The second event will take place at 4pm on the same day at Bunbury Cathedral Grammar School.
There will also be an eight kilometre event at Cowaramup and an event at a’Maze’n in Margaret River on October 8.
New orienteers are welcome and instruction is given before the event.
