Rugby league players need to be insured against serious injury

Yes, I know rugby league is not union, but it needs a stronger one, with all rugby league players getting behind it. One of the ironies of the code is that even though the whole purported reason for its establishment a century and a bit ago was so that the working class man could be properly rewarded for his skills, and have rights – not like the toffee-nosed twits of rah-rah – the players have never used their undoubted industrial muscle to improve their lot, the way workers have in every other industry.
