COOINDA Primary School will be a more beautiful place to work and play after National Schools Tree Day.
With a donation from Bunbury Toyota and help from the team at Bunnings, students planted new trees in the playground including peppermint trees, jacarandas and a weeping willow.
Bunbury Bunnings gardening guru and former student Dion Turner said the team were proud to help the school.
“It is great to be able to get involved in the area and help the school,” he said.
Principal Anne Fletcher said the students enjoyed the chance to get out in the garden and get their hands dirty.
More than 2500 schools across the country took part in Schools Tree Day which aims to educate students on environmental issues such as the loss of habitat for native wildlife, erosion and long-term carbon offsetting.
