Police dog Freddie tracked down a drink driver in Mirrabooka on Friday night.
The Ballajura man failed a breath test blowing 0.15 - three times the drink driving limit.
He was arrested after police were called to the scene of a car crash on Reid Highway just after 10pm.
Police say a Mitsubishi Sedan was being driven east on the highway when it left the road and crashed into a tree. The driver left the scene on foot.
Officers brought police dog Freddie to the scene and he tracked the man along the highway and over an embankment onto Northwood Drive where 42-year-old was found.
He has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
