THE Lighthouse Beach Resort has received about $20,000 worth of damage after a guest smashed her car through a wall and nose-dived from the raised car-park onto the ground below.
Resort general manager Christina Mitchell said the woman claimed her foot became stuck on the accelerator when she was attempting to leave the car park about 7pm last night.
A passer-by helped pull the driver from the vehicle. She suffered no serious injuries but was taken to hospital to be assessed.
A tow truck removed the car from the scene.
Mrs Mitchell said the crash had damaged the hotel’s pool pumps and destroyed a wall and railing which had recently been upgraded.
No charges have been laid but police are investigating the cause of the crash.
