IT was an easy day for the Busselton Magpies' league and reserves teams in round 17 of the South West Football League.
They travelled down south to face the Margaret River Hawks.
Both games were convincing with a 96 point win for league and 60 point win for reserves.
Unfortunately the colts side were less successful, losing by seven points.
League
Busselton started very strongly kicking six goals and keeping the Hawks goalless in the first quarter.
The second quarter was much more competitive by the home side with Busselton kicking two goals and the Hawks were able to get a major on the board.
The Hawks were down by 46 points at half time.
The third quarter showed improvement again by the home side with four goals to Busselton’s two.
Busselton were able to dominate the last quarter with another four goals as well as keeping the Hawks goalless.
The final score was 14.11 (95) to 5.5 (35)
Reserves
Busselton dominated the match kicking eight goals to the Hawks’ one in the first half.
It was much the same in the second half with the Magpies piling on another seven goals to the Hawks one.
The final score was 15.21 (111) to 2.3 (15).
Colts
This was a very close fought match with the Hawks leading by just one goal for most of the game.
The final score was appropriate to how tough the game was with the home side winning by seven points.
The final score was 10.10 (70) to 8.15 (63).
