BUNBURY digital genius John Colebrook has unveiled his latest project – Australia’s largest ever photo.
The Pixelcase managing director has created a 125 gigapixel interactive image of Sydney as part of an interactive game for the Commonwealth Bank.
More than 21,000 images were stitched together to make the 360 degree image of Sydney for the game, covering more than 100 kilometres.
Last week Mr Colebrook told the Daily Mail Australia that the project was the largest he had ever worked on and there was quite a lot of specialised equipment involved.
“It involved taking pictures incrementally using a high resolution camera and a robot that moved the camera,” he said.
The Where’s My Wallet game encourages Aus-tralians to search the map for lost wallets with cash prizes on offer.
This record breaking project comes on the back of Mr Colebrook’s 360-degree interactive video launched in 2013 to promote tourism in the City of Bunbury.
At the time Mr Colebrook said the video was cutting edge and showcased the region to the world.
“The video was made with special cameras which we made in house which point in a number of directions and then our own specially designed software which stitch the images together and allow viewers to interact with it online,” he said.
“I enjoyed working on the project and being able to get out in the region and camp while I captured the time lapses.”
