WHEN Picton company HTE Transport signed up to take part in the Val Lishman Health Research Foundation 2014 Qube Truck Pull and Festival, they did it in support of their employee and his family.
Greg Elson and his wife Giselle have two sons and their youngest, Liam, has autism.
Life with an autistic child has its unique demands on a family, with activities the rest of us take for granted becoming a real challenge.
For example, at the age of 11, Liam has only just been for his first haircut at a hairdresser.
Until now, the task had to be completed at home as Liam screamed for the whole time the haircut took.
When Greg is away with work, Giselle faces these challenges alone.
HTE Transport owners Aaron and Lisa Turner have huge admiration for the Elson family.
When they heard about the Qube Truck Pull and the opportunity to raise money to assist the Val Lishman Health Research Foundation fund an autism project, they did not hesitate to enter a team.
The event will be held on Saturday, November 15.
