BUNBURY'S historic Cronshaw's building is among 31 heritage projects to share in $1 million of funding under the state governments 2014-15 Heritage Grants program.
Announcing the grants on Wednesday, Heritage minister Albert Jacob said the funding would assist private owners to conserve and revitalise 20 regional and 11 metropolitan state registered heritage properties.
The owners of the Cronshaw's building received a $100,000 grant to restore its 1938 façade and will contribute the same amount towards the project.
Bunbury MLA John Castrilli welcomed the grants and said they were an important way to help conserve the history of the region.
"As the region moves forward, we also need to remember to honour the past and these grants are an important way of doing that," he said.
Other South West grants include the owners of 10 Turner Street in Bunbury who received $11,800 while the Minninup Homestead in Capel, built in 1848 from limestone quarried on the property, received more than $32,600 for conservation works.
Mr Jacob said the state government had increased the grants program funding over the past three years.
Since the program began in 1996-97, 690 heritage projects have been awarded grants totaling more than $15.8 million.
