BUNBURY woman Katie Jones believes her four-month-old puppy Deisl is the cutest pooch in the world – but she admits that she may be a little biased.
It seems that others agree with her as the little red heeler cross blue heeler took out the state title for Australia’s Cutest Dog last week.
Dozens of Bunbury dogs flocked to the local PETstock store on October 12 vying for the title.
Deisl managed to take out not only the Bunbury heat, but the WA leg of the competition and Ms Jones was rewarded with a $1000 gift card.
It was quite a feat considering there were 6500 entries in the competition, with more than 830 from WA.
“I’ve known Deisl since he was one week old, we bought him off a breeder in Manjimup – I just had to have him, he’s gorgeous,” Ms Jones said.
The Bunbury Mail ran a Bunbury’s Cutest Pooch online photo gallery in the lead-up to the competition, which received more than 130 entries.
The national winner will be announced on October 29 and will take home a luxury-spec Renault Koleos 4x2 Petrol CTV Bose Edition valued at $34,990.
