THE heady scent of cured leather is the first thing you notice when stumbling across Leather Park on Bunbury’s Victoria Street shopping strip.
The leather bag speciality store, filled from floor to ceiling with every type of receptacle imaginable, has changed owners.
New owner Nicola Brunette took the bull by the horns when she took over the business earlier this month.
Ms Brunette has since been working on developing the shop’s range and bringing in new styles.
“I liked shopping for bags myself, so when the opportunity to take this place over I thought ‘why not’?” Ms Brunette told business.
She said her passion for colours would drive her search for new bags.
“I just love colours – I think it’s about matching a colour with a customer’s personality,” she said.
“I have people coming in here that know exactly what they want and they go straight for a certain colour and you know what they are like.”
Taking a trip to France in November, Ms Brunette plans to take inspiration from boutique bag stores in Paris.
The store will celebrate its official change of ownership when she returns.
