BUNBURY'S Payne Park is bursting with activity and colour this weekend as thousands take part in the 2014 Relay for Life event.
Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event which brings together all the teams who have been fundraising throughout the year for the Cancer Council WA.
The motto is “Celebrate, Remember, Fight Back” and the event represent the hope that people lost to cancer will never be forgotten, those facing cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
Teams register from workplaces, schools, sporting and community groups and raise money throughout the year.
Then, their efforts culminate in the Relay itself, which has an atmosphere of celebration and features music, kids activities, lots of colourful team costumes, and entertainment.
Members of the public are welcome to head down to Payne Park to watch the event and cheer on the walkers, and entry is free.
The event runs from 11am on Saturday, November 1 to 11am on Sunday, November 2.
