WITH summer officially kicking off on Monday, the popular Koombana Bay swimming pontoon has made a return this week.
On Thursday morning the floating infrastructure was launched into Koombana Bay for the second summer in a row.
Located at the boating-prohibited area at Koombana Bay across from the kiosk, the pontoon features nonslip UV resistant decking, two ladders and low-maintenance lightweight fabrication.
The pontoon drew large crowds when it appeared in the ocean last summer and although the hot weather has yet to make an appearance Mayor Gary Brennan is confident the pontoon will once again be wellreceived by beach-goers and visitors to Bunbury.
“It is a fairly simple piece of equipment however it provides hours of fun and entertainment for our young people,” Mr Brennan said.
Use of the pontoon is free for all users.
The City advises users to be aware of the risks and to use care when using and swimming around the pontoon.
