Two unrelated truck crashes in Myalup has left one driver dead and another meat truck gutted by fire and blocking the road overnight.

A MAN is dead and a truck carrying meat gutted by fire, blocking the Forrest Highway after two unrelated truck crashes in Myalup overnight.

The male driver of a rigid truck, believed to be in his 40s, left the road while travelling south along the Forrest Highway near Goss Road at about 11.30pm on Thursday night.

He collided with a large tree and was killed on impact.

Meanwhile another truck, with a trailer attached, caught ablaze at about 12.45am on Friday morning as it was travelling north on Forestry Road near the highway, before tipping over and becoming engulfed in flame.

The fire has since been extinguished by Department of Fire and Emergency Service crews.

The male driver was not injured.

All north bound traffic on the Forrest Highway is being directed through Harvey.
