A FIRE ignited in Boulters Heights in the hours of Sunday morning with Boulters Heights Hill lighting ablaze.
After burning a large portion of the hill, Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services were able to control the blaze.
The grass lands of the hill, which overlook the courthouse and part of the CBD, received significant damage from the fire.
A total fire ban is currently in place for the South West, meaning any activity that could initiate a fire is strictly prohibited.
Anyone who breaches a fire ban could face penalties as high as a $25,000 fine and/or 12 months imprisonment.
