ONE Mandurah boy may be on the edge of his big break with United States agents urging him to go to America for potential acting roles.
Dylan Ansell flew to Los Angeles at the beginning of the year for the International Presentation of Performers (iPOP!) an event which promotes emerging talent to leading agents, managers and casting directors.
The 16-year-old was one of about 3000 young actors, models, dancers and singers who auditioned in his age group, and was one of 100 to go to LA.
“There were people from South Africa, America, Australia, Belgium and England there all performing,” Dylan said.
“The idea was to perform in front of agencies and be selected for different roles.
“So I did a monologue, a 90-second scene with a partner as well as modelling in swim suits, formal and casual wear.
“I was also asked to host one of the gala events.”
Dylan walked away with awards for the Best Monologue, Actor of the Year, Model of the Year, as well as other wards for his acting and modelling.
With the hopes of returning to America later this year to film different pilot episodes and advertisements the teenager said he still wants to be a normal teenager.
“I’m taking it as it comes and keeping as grounded as possible,” Dylan said.
“But everyone out there should chase their dreams and I’m lucky to have a supportive family who pull me through.”
