A dangerous thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the Mid West Gascoyne.
The Department of Fire and Emergency Services said people living in coastal and inland areas south of Carnarvon and north of Kalbarri should be prepared for damaging winds, big hailstones and heavy rain on Saturday afternoon.
The storm is likely to reach as far inland as Paraburdoo and Newman.
Weather forecasters said such storms are not unusual for this time of year but could damage homes and make travel dangerous.
People living in the storm area are advised to store or tie down outdoor funiture and make sure you have an emergency kit including a battery operated radio and torch. Pets and other animals should be placed in a safe area and vehicles should be moved under cover.
Boat owners are urged to securely moor their boats and campers should shelter away from trees, powerlines, storm water drains and streams.
