MUAY THAI: OMAC Fight Centre owner and Muay Thai trainer Gary O’Dine is looking forward to training the next generation of fighters out of his new gym at 47 Albert Road in Bunbury.
O’Dine has been operating Muay Thai gyms in Bunbury for more than 30 years and is looking forward to a big year ahead for OMAC Fight Centre.
O’Dine will be holding two Respect Fight Nights and two junior shows and will also be participating in shows in Perth in 2015.
He will also be taking fighters from the centre on a trip to Thailand this July, in which he hopes to show them the culture the sport originates from.
“I really love going to Thailand and taking my fighters to see the home of the sport first hand,” he said.
“It’s a real eye-opener and it really gets them fired up.”
O’Dine also runs multiple programs to help troubled youths find discipline and physical training in Muay Thai.
“The programs we run here can help kids with things such anger management, discipline issues and it can help teach them respect,” he said.
“I’d rather them in here punching a bag then out on the streets punching a person.”
OMAC Fight Centre runs trainings from Monday to Friday at 6pm.
