THE Koombana Bay Sailing Club’s annual regatta saw some of the state’s best talent up against each other earlier this month.
Koombana Bay was a sea of sails as numerous dinghy classes, windsurfers and keelboats all vied for honours in their respective fleets.
Amongst the regatta, KBSC also hosted the WA O’pen Bic Cup.
Over thirty boats converged on Bunbury for the junior championships, with a strong local contingent competing.
Bunbury sailors featured prominently on their home waters, taking home two state titles, a runner-up and top 10 rankings.
In the open division, KBSC fielded their top three local sailors – Kaiella Taylor (15), Luke Dobrich (14) and Will Drew (11).
The three fought hard in the 22 boat open fleet, taking a number of top three finish’s in the eight race regatta.
KBSC also fielded three newcomers in the nine boat Silver Fleet division, including Emma Tinley (11), Timothy Pilbeam (10) and Marcella Liddiard (12).
