THE possibility that missing WA senate votes cast in Bunbury in the 2013 election literally fell off the back of a truck cannot be ruled out, according to a new report.
It was revealed at the time that 1375 votes had gone missing which forced a new vote.
Some of the missing ballot papers were from the Bunbury East booth in the Forrest electorate.
The joint standing committee on electoral matters released its final report on Wednesday, revealing that some votes were transported in an open truck to the WA Senate recount centre.
This goes against the Australian Electoral Commission rules.
Committee chair Tony Smith has stated that the possibility that votes fell off the back of a truck or were disposed of with rubbish could not be ruled out.
